Mid-Life Crisis Update

As of today, my age no longer begins with a “3″.

So how am I, a now 40 year old geek, doing at the usual activities for a man my age? Well, I’ve shaved my head and taken up guitar. However, I have not yet obtained the usual fast car nor the obligatory 18 year old blonde trophy girlfriend, as I cannot afford either of those. So on a scale of 1 to 100 mid-life-crisis points, I’m scoring around… 25 or so. Disappointing; I better get to work, eh?

So how did the birthday end up going ? And how are you liking the Tyan II ?

Heh I just noticed you’ve been commenting, guess I better turn on e-mail notifications.

Anyway my birthday was uneventful, just the way I like it… a friend took me to P.F. Chang’s for lunch and they served us an extra plate of kung pao scallops, and that was about all that was out of the ordinary.

The TyTn II is very nice; I’ve posted a review of it at the-gadgeteer.com :)

Hello, today is the last day when my age begins with a ’2′ and when looking back I’m a bit frustrated with the direction my life has taken. However, I also decided to buy me a guitar on this occasion. I haven’t been playing since high school. Alas, youth is over and it’s now or never I said, last chance to make former (and today almost forgotten) dreams come through. That’s how I found your blog – browsing web for pictures of PRS SE which I intend to obtain together with Valveking amp :) I’d appreciate an update on your guitar “adventure” – do you still keep playing? Did it mitigate your “mid-life crisis”? Also, if there are any useful hints/tips/tricks about surviving (or rather, enjoying) life between 30 and 40, share them with me please. ;) Best regards, Peter.
